      4 bodies found in Southern California home in suspected murder-suicide: cops

      Police discovered the bodies of two males and two females in a Mission Viejo home Tuesday morning. A shocked neighbor described hearing screaming from the home just before dawn. Police said they are not looking for a suspect.

      Four people have been found dead inside a Southern California home Tuesday in a suspected murder-suicide.

      Officers discovered the bodies of two males and two females in a two-story Mission Viejo home after a relative called police, the Orange County Register reported.

      A cause of death was not immediately reported pending a coroner's investigation but homicide investigators are looking into the situation, said Lt. Jeff Hallock of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

      As of Tuesday afternoon police said they are not looking for a suspect and do not think nearby residents are in any danger. 

      Despite that update, neighbors have been left understandbly rattled by the bodies' discovery.

      Neighbor Anila Whitney-Miller told the Register that just before dawn she was woken by the sound of screaming coming from the home.

      “It was just awful crying,” she told the paper.

      It was so loud she said that she initially feared that the screaming was coming from her own child.

      Then the sound just stopped, she said.

      Another neighbor told KABC that a husband, wife and two teenaged children live at the home. The children are between the ages of 8 and 10.

      The family was described to the Los Angeles Times by another neighbor as "the perfect Christian family."

      Mission Viejo is about 50 miles southeast of Los Angeles.
