      An attorney who sent sexual requests to a client’s teenage daughter in Pennsylvania has been disbarred by the New Jersey Supreme Court.

      Jeffrey Toman, formerly of Cherry Hill, sent his client’s then 14-year-old daughter pictures of his penis, FaceTimed her while masturbating, asked her to send pictures of her in her bikini and asked to come over when she was home alone, according to court papers filed against him.


      Toman, who was admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey in 2010, pleaded no contest to first-degree misdemeanor corruption of a minor in 2017, in Pennsylvania. He served five months in Lackawanna County Prison there before a judge granted his request for home confinement.

      He began contacting the teen in 2015 while representing her mother in a custody hearing, according to court documents. The mother initially gave Toman her daughter’s number to "establish a relationship with her to better represent her and her mother in the legal battle.”

      In June 2016, the 14-year-old’s mother confronted Toman after getting “mother’s intuition”, observing how he looked at her daughter when they were in the same room, according to court documents.

      The mother confronted Toman about damaging her daughter in text messages, the affidavit said, and Toman replied “she isn’t broken.” Pennsylvania police arrested Toman in July 2016.

      Last year, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court suspended Toman for three years.

      The New Jersey Supreme Court’s disciplinary board voted in January to disbar Toman, and the high court made it official on April 23. Toman did not participate in the New Jersey proceedings against his law license.
