Corey Sligh, who was in the news after a brutal attack on him in 2014, has hit headlines once again. Only this time it is for horrific reasons. The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia has revealed that they had taken the former The Young And The Restless extra in custody on charges of child molestation. According to a Corey Sligh child molestation update, the arrest took place after the victim’s parents reported about it.
Corey Sligh, who played a bartender and a waiter on the popular show, was accused of molesting a girl who was under 10 years of age. According to Corey Sligh child molestation reports, the 28-year-old soap extra was arrested by the police on October 14. This was after the parents told the police about the molestation on September 24.

An article in TMZ states that documents reveal that the molestation took place between April and September. However, it is still not known if he is accused of multiple counts or if it was a single incident.
An article in Daily Mail states that despite being arrested on October 14, he was released immediately on the same day on a $22,000 bond. On his part, the actor is denying the Corey Sligh child molestation charges and is maintaining innocence. He recently stated that he is fighting the allegations and that ‘the truth will prevail.’
While many publications have reached out to Sligh and his reps, neither have made any official comments so far. Sligh, whose acting credits also include parts in All About Lizzie and 2008’s God Is Dead, served as an executive producer for a TV movie called Single Shelly. He has also been recurring on The Young And The Restless as a bartender and a waiter for sometime now.
A native from Georgia, Sligh hit headlines way back 2014 when he was assaulted on a Thanksgiving night. An article in Heavy states that the actor was beaten up after being intentionally hit by a car in a parking lot in West Hollywood.
While his assailants, Nikola Ilic, aged 24 years and Dusan Lilic, aged 26 were arrested, Sligh had to be hospitalized in the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for the injuries they gave him. This resulted in the 28-year-old actor spending months in recovery. Much of his left side was injured and he had plates and screws fitted in his right arm. And even though he could move his neck, he had to relearn how to walk again.
