The Brooklyn rapper
made mention of the Inwood riverfront restaurant La Marina in his song
"Cuffin' Season," saying,
"You was in La Marina all summer."
Fabolous has put popular riverfront restaurant La Marina in one of his
rap songs, and the Brooklyn rapper — fresh off a car accident this week
in Queens — will perform Saturday at the venue he helped make famous.
The event, which will bring up to 1,500 fans to the club’s man-made
riverfront beach, will also give La Marina an opportunity to prove it
has made good on its owners’ promise to control the noise.

La Marina has served as a frequent flashpoint in the conflict between
business owners in the burgeoning entertainment district and the
residents who complain they’ve been beseiged by the accompanying traffic
and noise.
The summertime hotspot has attracted the likes of Jay Z, Beyonce and
Leonardo DiCaprio since it opened in 2012, but last year the city
cracked down, ordering La Marina to end its season early and call off an
album release party for rapper Drake.

“Are we working with the police? Absolutely,” said Fernando Mateo, a
co-owner of the hotspot at the end of Dyckman St. “All we’re trying to
do is comply and do what’s necessary.”
The Parks Department confirmed that La Marina promised to end the
concert at 10 p.m. and close the venue at 1 a.m., said spokesman Philip
Abramson, noting the restaurant has a capacity of 500 people and 1,500
for the beach.

Saturday’s performance comes on the heels of Fabolous’ recent hit song,
“Cuffin’ Season,” in which the rapper mentions the venue saying, “You
was in La Marina all summer.”
The restaurant was also featured in the music video for the song.

Marina, a riverfront restaruant at Dyckman and the Hudson River in
Inwood, which is introducing a "Dock & Dine" series of 22 slips this
summer, as well as a new customized smoke house.
Tickets for Saturday’s performance are going for $50 in advance, if you can find them. Some promoters have already sold out.
On Wednesday, the rapper tweeted that he escaped a car accident on the Van Wyck Expressway with only minor injuries.
“I wanna Thank God for not only letting me walk away with a few bumps & bruises,” he tweeted.
