Kid Cudi announced on Twitter that a track on Pusha T’s upcoming album that features him and Ye will be their last song together.
“Hey! So I know some of you heard about the song I got [with] Pusha,” Cudi tweeted on Tuesday. “I did this song a year ago when I was still cool [with] Kanye. I am not cool [with] that man. He’s not my friend and I only cleared the song for Pusha [because] that’s my guy. This is the last song you will hear me on [with] Kanye.”
Cudi and Ye had a public falling out back in February when Ye took to Instagram to share that he was upset about Cudi’s friendship with Pete Davidson, according to Variety. In a since-deleted post, he said that Cudi “will not be on Donda because he’s friends with you know who.” According to Pitchfork, Cudi fired back in the comments, saying “Too bad I don’t wanna be on ur album u fuckin dinosaur hahaha.”
He also tweeted about the incident to share his side of the story.
“We talked weeks ago about this,” he wrote. “You’re whack for flipping the script and posting this lie just for a look on the internet. You ain’t no friend. BYE.”
Of course, Ye had to clap back, saying that he felt betrayed by Cudi.
“I JUST WANTED MY FRIEND TO HAVE MY BACK THE KNIFE JUST GOES IN DEEPER,” he captioned a now-deleted Instagram post of a group photo.
The picture showed Cudi, Davidson, Timothée Chalamet, and Ye around a table. He crossed out everyone’s faces except Chalamet’s.
Ye posted several snaps showing his strong disdain for Cudi. One of the pictures showed him and Davidson going after each other in a fake Marvel movie poster, Pitchfork reports. Behind Ye were photoshopped images of Drake, Julia Fox, Travis Scott and Future. Behind Davidson was Kim Kardashian, Kid Cudi, Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift.
“United we stand. Divided we fall,” was also written at the bottom of the image.
Ye perpetuated the beef in another post that showed an image of him and Drake next to an image of Cudi and Davidson.
“Who will win?” was written across the edited photo which was later deleted.
