Reading through all the recent headlines, whether itâs things like
âDrake Dances On Meek Millâs Grave at OVO Festâ or âDrake Destroys Meek
Millâ â many of which pop up after a quick Google search â itâs clear
as day that Meek Mill is public enemy number one.
Today (August 7) marks a week since the Philadelphia rapper fired back at Drake with the hard-hitting (and much-panned) response track âWanna Know,â but between the continuous meme-bashing, the bludgeoning at OVO Fest, and the ire of just about everyone else, the record really didnât do much to dispel Drakeâs infamous âBack to Backâ line: âYou getting bodied by a singing niâa.â Oh, man.
Howbeit, even as the media storm rages on, Meek clearly
isnât letting the criticism be the thorn in his side. And so, as the
world awaits another official counterattack on wax, the Philly native
has been working at his own pace, ditching the booth to instead publicly
send out during performances on the Pinkprint Tour with Nicki Minaj.
Earlier this week, he promised a crowd in Charlotte, North Carolina that
he would âgive OVO a wedgie.â Then, last night (August 6) in Camden,
New Jersey, Meek â cleverly rocking a Sixers jersey with Julius "Dr. J"
Ervingâs signature No. 6 â got at the â6 Godâ rapper yet again, with
much more of a scathing dart than the previous warning.
âDid five months, came home, thatâs perfect timing / To make a sucka
n**** look sucka without trying / If Quentin Miller wrote that shit,
what were we buying? / N**** turn to hoes, Caitlyn Jenners turn to
Drizzy Drakes.
Later on in the a cappella freestyle, the rapper said, âWas still out
in the field toting the blocks, he was still wheel chair Jimmy rolling
up the block⊠My mama used to hold the Berettas when it was hot / Youâre
mama used to peek out the window and call the cops.â
Before ending, Meek also dished out a few lines that is sure to draw
chatter, including âI got word from the 6, niggas said you testified.â
Another standout statement made that night were two pointed words: "Fâk
AR-AB!"
"How dare a Philly n**** get behind a n**** that's out of town," he
said. The harsh choice of words comes after Drake recently gave a
shoutout to AR-AB on the dis song, "Back to Back," rapping "I drove here in the Wraith playin' AR-AB / I'm not sure what it was that really made y'all mad / But I guess this is what I gotta do to make y'all rap."
Of course, it wasn't long before AR-AB responded to Meek's words.
Meekâs a capella freestyle comes on the heels of Drakeâs retaliatory combo âCharged Upâ and âBack to Back.â
At the OVO Fest on Monday (August 3), the Toronto-native performed
the said songs, as well as teased the rumored third dis track in his
strategic takedown,â3 Peat.â Giving a sample of the record, he spat,
âBeen saying fâk a chaser when we taking shots⊠He ainât ready for that
â3 Peat.ââ
But the "Lord Knows" spitter appears to be on to better things.
