      Police say body found in lagoon was Puerto Rican boxer's lover

      The body of a 27-year-old woman that was found in a Puerto Rican lagoon has been identified as Keishla Rodríguez, the lover of Puerto Rican boxer Félix Verdejo.

      Rodríguez was first reported missing on Thursday, according to a missing person's report, after she did not arrive for work. She last communicated with her mother at 7 a.m. that day.Her body was found in a lagoon in San Juan the next day.

      On Sunday, Puerto Rico's Institute of Forensic Science said in a statement that it identified the body as Rodríguez through dental records.

      Verdejo, who represented Puerto Rico at the Olympics in 2012, was brought in for questioning by police on Friday but refused to cooperate with authorities or answer any questions, according to The Associated Press.

      Verdejo's car was also seized by police, the AP noted. No arrests have been made in the case.

      According to The New York Times, Verdejo, 27, is a person of interest in Rodríguez's disappearance. On Saturday, however, Antonio López Figueroa, the commissioner of Puerto Rico's police force, did not reveal if authorities had identified any suspects.

      Rodríguez was reportedly pregnant with Verdejo's child, the AP reported, citing Rodríguez's family.

      Keila Ortiz, Rodríguez's mother, said her daughter called before she disappeared on Thursday and said Verdejo was visiting her house to review results of a pregnancy test, according to the AP.

      Ortiz told the AP she told her daughter to "be careful" because Verdejo had reportedly threatened Rodríguez and told her not to have the baby in the past.
